40 people had been killed in deadly battle that ensued near Somalia's southwestern border with Ethiopia according to officials, Garowe Online reports. On Tuesday morning, heavily armed Al Shabaab fighters raided bases in a village on Somalia-Ethiopia border, killing 28 vigilantes, the Governor of Bakool region of southwestern Somalia said on VOA Somalia Service during Tuesday interview.
Ethiopian-AMISOM troops have been fighting alongside Somali National Army (SNA) in support of Somali Federal Government's stabilization efforts.
